Passionate about Fitness, Health and Wellbeing, I established New Horizons Health in 2016 with the aim of enhancing people's lives through structured exercise and a holistic approach to training. What started as a small mobile Personal Training company has expanded into an award winning, multi site Fitness Agency, whilst maintaining a strong company ethos to exceed expectations and support participants, corporate clients and instructors alike.

My own fitness journey didn't begin until I turned 30. I wanted to lose weight after having my son, so I started jogging. At that time, if somebody had said to me that I would go on to run marathons, ultra-marathons and some 25 half-marathons, including Las Vegas, Paris, Venice, I would never have believed them! Running changed my life and it started with bravely taking that first step.


On a voluntary basis, I have worked with and mentored people who were completely new to exercise through to people training for half and full marathons. In doing this, I started to think that becoming a personal trainer was the job for me! So I set about working towards the qualifications and here I am. 


I can help you take that first step with weight-loss, toning, functional fitness or running-related goals. 


If you're new to the gym (I remember how daunting it can be) I have a tried and tested ability to put people at ease. My sessions are designed to be tough of course, but also relaxed and with a bit of fun thrown in.

I have been Personal Training and instructing classes since 2000. Having completed the London Marathon in 97, I decided I would like a career within the fitness industry. Two years later I was running it again, this time with a team that I had trained. Within 6 months of completing my gym and resistance training I was chosen to complete a Personal Training Course and launch the service for a premier health club. I established a successful running club lasting over 15 years for the same health club. I enjoy teaching my spin classes a minimum of 9 a week over 4 locations,

I am one of the only instructors to have a double spin at 2 of these locations.

My experience spans over 16years with many successful results. One of the most emotional moments was my client who dropped down from 23stones to 16stones. One day we jogged up hill past his house, only to be told later that he use to struggle with his trekking sticks walking up that hill. The following year at 50 years old we ran the Bolsover 10k, he gave me his stick to say thank you that he would never need them again.

I studied NVQ Sports level 1,2,3 and international personal training diploma at Chesterfield College.

I am also qualified as a Level 4 instructor, which enables me to train my clients in more specific areas.

I worked in care for over ten years, supporting clients with learning and physical disabilities, before coming back into the fitness industry.

This really helped me understand the barriers people face when beginning their fitness journey, so I was better placed to assist them in overcoming the obstacles and starting getting active.

I have been training for over ten years, mostly on body conditioning, body building, muscle definition, toning and cardio fitness. I still compete in body building and will be doing so in April this year. Last year I competed a Triathlon at Castle Howard, so I am well aware of cardio fitness and training in that area.

My main hobbies are rock climbing together with body weight training; focusing on gymnastic strength, mobility and flexibility. I am passionate about yoga, Pilates, meditation and sport massage in my everyday life.

I am an experienced Personal Trainer with a great understanding of how to get the best out of people and have worked with over 300 clients; ranging from sedentary lifestyles right through to elite athletes.

I have trained with Hull City AFC academy, which enhanced my performance skills in physical fitness and taught me to strive for excellence at every opportunity. Working for the performance analysis department, I soon learned how to particularise an individual workout routine to best develop a persons’ capability and achieve their long-term goals of exercise and diet.

Previously a schoolteacher, I pride myself in seeing the potential in everyone and I will do my utmost to help you achieve your fitness. I bring both professionalism and enthusiasm to every session, communicating clearly your goals to achieve the perfect workout. At every session, you will have the opportunity to develop yourself through a positive mindset, with exercises that will challenge you both mentally and physically.

I have worked with inactive clients, who go on to achieve 5K runs to experienced triathletes and marathon runners who want to take it to the next level. My personal experience of taking part in charity fitness events, such as boxing and ballroom dancing, has greatly improved my knowledge of intense workout regimes and the confidence to perform in front of audiences in a competitive arena.

I have studied health, fitness, nutrition, and sports performance for around 10 years and have accumulated vast amounts of diverse interaction and experience with professional athletes wanting to excel in their sport and individuals struggling with pain looking to get back to living life pain free. My robust knowledge of how the human body works and how it adapts to exercise and nutrition will enable me to support you throughout the process of achieving your goals. However, addressing posture defects, mobility, and how one’s movement effects their daily living and functioning is a very important part of my methodology for a healthy lifestyle.

My enthusiasm for health and fitness has evolved throughout the process of my education, which has preceded me to coach and program emphasising a movement first approach.
